Richland has once again been voted the #1 private school in Richmond Hill 4th YEAR IN A ROW (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) by The Readers’ Choice – Metroland Media Group

At Richland Academy, we work together to define education for a changing world so that our students are deeper thinking, confident and world ready.

We are a community of learners who are active, responsible, and compassionate global citizens.

We aim to provide a learning environment that builds intercultural understanding and respect.

Richland Academy is a warm and welcoming International Baccalaureate (IB) World school in Richmond Hill, Ontario. We are a 21st century learning community that embraces the Reggio approach to inquiry-based learning and provides opportunities for our students to develop keen critical thinking skills as they explore, investigate, collaborate and communicate with one another from Pre-kindergarten to Grade 8.

The Reggio Emilia Approach

dates back to post-war Italy, in the northern region of Reggio Emilia.  The people of Reggio Emilia came together to develop a meaningful way to educate their children, and to create a better future for their community. The Reggio Emilia Approach to learning engages children in questions that they develop and investigate. Just like the community of Reggio Emilia, the image of the child as a capable, curious and creative learner is at the heart of all we do at Richland Academy
