Supporting Richland Academy

Richland Educational Charity

The Richland Educational Charity was established to raise funds to benefit the educational and learning resources for all students. The funds can be used to purchase hands-on learning materials and technology to assist children in learning.

The Charitable Fund Board consists of one Director, one staff employee, and one parent who will meet annually to review the school community wish list. Monetary donations gifted throughout the school year will be eligible to receive a tax receipt through the Charity.

Additionally, a percentage of the donations received each year will be given to a youth charity benefitting their education. This year we will be donating a portion of the charitable funds to the 360Kids iGrad program

Ways to Give

  1. You can choose to make a one-time donation by cheque to our main office. Please ensure that all donations are made payable to the Richland Educational Charity. The minimum donation of $100.00 is eligible for a tax receipt. Tax receipts will be issued in the full amount of the donation in the calendar year in which it is received
  1. Making a donation is now even easier through our online portal at CanadaHelps.org. Here you can set up a one-time or monthly donation. You can also gift securities which is the more efficient way to donate. More information about the benefits of donating securities can be found here.

Richland Academy Fundraising Account

In addition to the Educational Charity, the Parent Ambassadors have a fundraising account that goes towards supplementing school events and purchases on the student’s “wish list”. You can find out more about the Parent Ambassadors here.

What Your Generosity Makes Possible

Over the past 2 years, donations from our community have contributed to over $20,000 in educational equipment purchases for our students. These contributions go far in supporting the school’s mission.

The generosity of our community goes far beyond just benefiting the school. The various charitable initiatives that our students participate in throughout the year have a lasting impact throughout the world. Here are just some of the ways we are making an impact in the lives of our fellow residents of this beautiful planet.

Upgrades to the Learning Commons

As we endeavor to offer the Middle Years Programme (MYP) as part of the International Baccalaureate, a significant upgrade to our Learning Commons was completed at the beginning of the 2022 academic year. Part of the upgrade was made possible through a generous donation from one of our families. The upgrade not only provides for an improved collaborative learning space but also a new Library cataloging system which will make student access to learning resources more accessible.

360 Kids

As many of you are already well aware, the last Friday of the month is Civvies day when students do not have to wear their uniform. We ask families to donate $2 which goes towards charitable initiatives throughout the school year. For the past few years, the Richland Ambassadors have decided to donate Civvies money to a charity called 360 Kids. It is a local charity that assists homeless youth as they work to improve their lives. This year we were able to raise $825 to help the youth overcome crisis and transition to a state of safety and stability.

EcoClub – #TeamSeas

As part of Earth Day on April 22, 2022, the EcoClub at Richland Academy ran an initiative to raise awareness of our fragile seas. The students were allowed to wear Blue, Green, or House shirts for the day and were asked to donate $2 towards TeamSeas goal of removing 30,000,000 pounds of trash in the ocean. The day was a great success and the EcoClub was able to raise $460 ($350usd) to help remove 350 pounds of trash from our oceans.
