Children’s relationships shape the way they see the world and affect other areas of their development (social, emotional, cognitive). Through relationships, children learn about their world and in BG 1, we build and strengthen relationships with every child entrusted in our care. We build our learning experiences on this platform of love and trust!

When it was decided that our school will be closed until 6th April 2020 due to Government regulation, the question we asked ourselves is:
‘How will we continue to stay connected with every child in our classroom?’
​So much of our teaching and learning is based on personal interactions with children throughout the day.

This week was our first week of teaching and learning through Google Classroom. With the innovative use of technology and support from our parents, we were able to bridge the gap. With planning and team work, we created a platform where we could share videos, and learning experiences that would promote thinking. We encouraged children to share their work and ideas, and explore new resources together.
So what did we do this week?

We strengthened our vocabulary through songs, phonics and stories.

We took care of our mind and bodies through yoga. We went outdoors looking for birds. Some of us also played golf!

We continued out inquiry into the magic of light and shadows.

We strengthened our relationship with our teachers!

At every step of this process, we were supported by families. We received feedback, we took action and continued to find ‘joy in learning’.
