This morning Richland’s Prek and JK children  honoured children around the world with our ‘We Are Silent’ initiative in partnership with Free The Children,  with a 45 minute session in the school gym. Before entering the gym, deep discussion about children’s rights came from the children. One Prek student exclaimed, “All children have rights” and another piped up, “Children have a right to speak”.

The children began their ‘moments of silence’ with yoga stretching and then played croquet most intently…No word was shared…not a word was uttered….The children were intentional, thoughtful, respectful, and had deep understanding of children, just like them, who have ‘no voice’.
