The students in Grades 4-6 were introduced to African and Brazilian beats during a Drum Workshop conducted by Norm Jones. Mr. Jones is an accomplished percussionist and has performed with many soul, funk, and jazz artists in Toronto and around the world. The students learned about the rich history of hand drums; and to work as a community by listening to each other and communicating through music.
Thank you Amy. It was a very exciting day. The children are so energetic and up lifting. What a joy it is to see a school like Richmond Academy reaching out to children from such an organic perspective. Please give my many thanks to the staff for treating me with kindness. Give a big shout out to those fantastic kids. They are all so special and I am sure will grow to be fine adults. They are so lucky to have you, Ms. Pitt 😉 as there mentor. Till next time.
Peace and love….PTL
