“What is a Scientist?”

The SK’s are in the process of exploring “What is a Scientist?”  They have been following the flowering and dying down of an amaryllis, using their observation and recording skills.  Rafael was fascinated with the hollow stem of the amaryllis, which reminded him “of a tube or straw.”

The children were excited to see some different bug specimens on the nature table.  They used magnifying glasses to explore their structures.  Madeleine connected a silk worm specimen with the silk worms she had learned about when exploring Asia. Daniel and Vismay could not believe that the bug specimens were real!  They wondered “if they were still alive.”
