Hibernation

The grade 1 students were learning about hibernation before the school year by watching videos, having discussions, creating art pieces, reading stories and doing research.

Reading Response: The students wrote a response on an animal of their choosing and explored what they need to do to prepare for hibernation.

3D Hibernation Scenes: The students created these with Ms. Sherman in class over several days using: cardboard, paint, paper, plasticine, and natural materials. I was blown away by how realistic these 3D scenes appeared and how different they all were!

Animal Pictures: The students were asked to draw the animals they chose to research. They created them with Ms. Sherman and they turned out so beautiful.
