Recently, our Grade 1 class read the book, “If You Find a Rock,” by Peggy Christian– an inspiring book in which different children look beyond a mere rock and find an experience, or take away a memory. After reading this story, Rohaum noted that rocks are like people “because they are all different”. The children were asked to think of their classmates as rocks, ‘dust one off’ and look closely at the beauty they found. They decided to create a special tree in their classroom, where they are able to share kind and caring experiences of their classmates.
