“Nothing lights up a child’s brain like play.” (Stuart Brown, National Institute for Play)

Prek and JK friends gather on a weekly basis for Interactive Learning time together. Most recently they have been deeply engaged in exploring the Learning Centres in the Prek classroom. From cooking a meal at the house area, building 3D structures at the light table, constructing a village at the building area, digging for treasures at the sand table, or creating the most precious pieces of art work at the studio, their moments together are most profound and vibrant.“Many of our greatest thinkers locate their capacity for original and profound thought in their imaginative abilities, first developed through creative play in early childhood.”  (Sharna Olfman, Point Park University)

Learning to live, work and play together is an extremely important part of the Prek and JK bond which we share. Playing with different materials in pairs or small groups, provides the opportunity to develop cooperative skills such as, sharing and exchanging ideas and materials, taking turns and showing respect for the needs and feelings of others.

“We have much to do together, Let us do it in wisdom and love and joy. Let us make this the human experience.” (Gary Zukav)
