Exploring the concept of Literacy…

Children elaborate their written communication by taking different elements into account: the chromatic and tactile choice of paper on which to write words, the graphic symbols of the letters of the alphabet, the size of the letters and of the words and the accompanying pictures and meaningful materials.  Writing for young children is very much part of their play.  It is a way of making his/her own mark in the world.
If encouraged and facilitated, children will constantly seek to practice it.  Over a period of time, this writing will move towards conventional forms.

“Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more.” ~ Loris Malaguzzi
