Exploring Light with the Reggio Inspired Summer Intensive Course

Richland’s classrooms continue to be inhabited by learning professionals exploring the principles of the Reggio philosophy.  Today, the course delegates gathered around light tables to explore the physical and metaphorical theories of light within the Reggio Inspired approach.  They interacted with materials and with one another, with great delight.  It’s evident from the conversations that ensued that the participants are not just learning about the principles of Reggio, they are building relationships with one another – and truly, that is where the learning happens.

Here is a link to a recent blog post from the course facilitators, Diane Kashin and Louise Jupp, of Technology Rich Inquiry Based Research which bestows the value of light within the Reggio philosophy.Thank you to the course delegates and to our colleagues in the Reggio Professional Learning Collaborative for engaging with us in this summer course.  We look forward to offering more professional learning opportunities throughout the year ahead.  Please follow this link for more information on upcoming events, course outlines and registration details. If you are as passionate about learning as we are, remember to mark your calendars and join us October 25th-26th, 2013 for the Canadian opening of the Exhibit of “Cultivate the Scientist in Every Child: The Philosophy of Frances and David Hawkins” and Hawkins Centers of Learning Exhibit Conference.
