Experimenting with Light and Shadow

This morning, our SK students engaged in some spontaneous investigation, exploring how to capture light, and also how to control it’s movements. They initially saw light moving around the room and wanted to ‘catch’ it.  They then noticed light spots on the ceiling and begun wondering where the source of light and shadow was coming from.  They quickly realized that the light was coming through the windows and that the mobiles and screens were ‘shaping’ the light and shadows to create different shapes, which led to further experimentation with mirrors, ‘magic’ wands, and sunglasses!
