Change the Subject: Making the Case for Project-Based Learning

We’re sharing this interesting article, written by Rob Riordan, the President of High Tech High GSE in the United States. Mr. Riordan wrote the article for edutopia.org, another favourite blog of ours here at Inquiring Minds. In it, Mr. Riordan emphasizes the importance of 21st Century skills, and how those should be delivered, in no uncertain terms.

“When we learn — really learn — we transform the content, the self, and the social relations of teaching and learning. This is what it means to change the subject. We can do this. If we value our future, we must.”

The ideas of Mr. Riordan are reflected in the Reggio-inspired Inquiry learning approach at Richland Academy. Our students experience project-based learning, and are poised for success in the 21st Century.
