Ashley is dedicated to creating a mutually respective classroom environment that encourages each child to make meaningful connections with their life outside of the classroom. She is passionate about student-led inquiry and concept-driven engagements that create diverse learning opportunities for each student. Ashley has just returned to Canada after spending nearly ten years working in private and international IB schools in Japan, Singapore and South Korea. Prior to teaching abroad, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology at Western University as well as a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. As someone who believes in lifelong learning, Ashley continued her studies to earn early years qualifications, as well as qualifications focused on children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has completed Project Zero’s Visible Thinking course through Harvard University of Education and has specialized training in teaching ESL students in the mainstream classroom. Over the years, Ashley has taught various subjects but found her true passion to be homeroom teaching.
