As part of our commitment to supporting the local community, Richland Academy held its annual food drive for the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank this week. The local charity helps provide food for those who need it most and supports over 1,000 families each month.
Our students were tasked with collecting non-perishable food items such as canned fruit, canned tomatoes, canned beans, canned stew, canned meat and fish, canned vegetables, sauce, jam, pasta, etc. to contribute to their house bins. The house that collected the most food was awarded house points!
A big thank you to Mr. Muhs, one of our Parent Ambassadors, for delivering all of the collected food items from our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Three students volunteered to help out by moving the items to the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank, and they even got a chance to meet David West, the Mayor of Richmond Hill, to discuss the importance of giving.
