Our Land Acknowledgement shows recognition of and respect for Indigenous peoples from the past and the present. We acknowledge that the property of Richland Academy is situated upon traditional territories of the Anishinabek, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit, Mississauga and the Wendat peoples.
Recognizing this land is an expression of gratitude and appreciation to those whose territory you reside on, and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial.
Whitney is very excited to be joining the Richland Academy teaching team! She has been passionately exploring the performing arts throughout her childhood and into the present by participating in choirs, jazz bands, orchestras, music theatre productions and by working as a collaborative pianist. Whitney graduated from the University of Toronto in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music and Education. She completed her Grade 10 Piano Certificate and Part 1 of the ARCT Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music and she is currently pursuing her Orff additional qualifications. For the past 9 years, Whitney has been developing her classroom skills in various private schools across the GTA and has thrived as a specialist teacher in the International Baccalaureate program. She particularly looks forward to learning alongside students and empowering them to be life-long learners by inspiring curiosity and creativity through the performing arts.
