Our Land Acknowledgement shows recognition of and respect for Indigenous peoples from the past and the present. We acknowledge that the property of Richland Academy is situated upon traditional territories of the Anishinabek, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Mississaugas of the Credit, Mississauga and the Wendat peoples.
Recognizing this land is an expression of gratitude and appreciation to those whose territory you reside on, and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial.
Jessica has been working with children her whole life. Her education and experience is multifaceted, having worked as a support worker for people with disabilities, a yoga instructor, a kindergarten teacher and an art teacher. She holds certifications as a support worker and yoga instructor, Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Art and Philosophy, as well as a Post Graduate Certification in Museum Studies and Curatorship. Jessica cultivates a safe and fun environment to both express and grow; always celebrating our differences while adapting lessons to suit individuals’ needs. Her approach to working with children is thematic in her life: Sometimes we need to calm our minds and find our breath, but sometimes we need a little bit of silliness too.
